Born in Schwed, Germany 02/16/1817. Came to Sheboygan County in 1851. In Kiel 1856. Officer of the 9th Wisconsin and later a colonel of the 45th Wisconsin. Was also a member of the bar but seldom practiced. Was on Plank Road Commission 1855 and 1858. Leader in theatrical and musical societies in Kiel. He was the first representative from Schweswig 1856. Died 1877.
