Description
It is a paid department of 19 men. The equipment consists of 2 hose carts, 1 hook and latter truck, 3800 feet of hose and 1 fire engine. This is held in reserve as the water works are used almost entirely. The call service is furnished by 18 boxes. The chief, Aug. Dueno, is an old time fire-fighter and has been in the department since he was 14 years old. This city is fortunately very free from fires and the good service of the department renders large fires almost impossible.
