Foreman in Teitgen's Tinsmith Works, fell 45 feet when scaffolding at site of building of Holy Family Hospital broke. His two helpers, Oscar Maier and Herman Kruger also fell, all receiving injuries. Becker fell on head and incurred skull fracture. Maier incurred severe contusions on chest and back and lost several teeth. Kruger had a double break of right hipbone and a severe wound on the forehead. Becker was born 01/11/1870. Reached the age of 29 years. Married in 1895 to Elizabeth Pankratz, daughter of Michael Pankratz and his deceased wife. Daughter born to the couple. Leaves wife, daughter, his parents, and 5 sisters. Burial Friday A.M. from Catholic church. # 135
