(farmer sec. 22, P O Hayton) Born in New Jersey 10/10/1827. In 1847, he went to Chemung County, NY, and from there to Calumet County, WI, in 1851, going first to Holstein, and finally settling here on a farm of 80 acres.  In 1847 he married Miss DeMouth of New Jersey, and has a family of 7 children. Mr Barber has held most of the town offices. He was Town Clerk for 8 years and District Clerk for 18; is a member of both the Masonic lodge and of the I O O F.
